Welcome back! In our first newsletter of the new year we have lots to share with you.
The children have settled into their new classes really well and already the standard and quality of their learning is reflecting our ambition of Excellence as Standard. I do hope that you managed to get to our Exhibition this afternoon and were impressed by the beautiful art, handwriting and performance poetry. Learning and performing a poem is so good on so many levels and also binds the class and year together as one team. DVDs of the performances are available at a cost of £5 – we are again very grateful to Barry Wilkinson productions for his support with this.
Ensuring a good start to a new year is always about a partnership between school and parents. Thank you to everyone who was able to come to Welcome to Year meetings. These meetings give you a good understanding of the overall context and content of learning for the year. If you want to be reminded of information then do look at your child’s year group page on our website.
One of the things we shared at the Welcome to Year group meetings was details of Phase Leader email contacts. If you have a concern or worry it is always best to talk with the classteacher but if you feel that we have not been able to help you in this way and there is further work to be done then please contact Phase Leaders via the contacts below:
Foundation Stage: Kelly Nash
Year 1 and 2: Catrin Bastista
Year 3and 4: Jemima Napier
Year 5 and 6: Tim Eustace
Phase leaders have management time each week and will respond to you in that time so it is important that you appreciate that we will not always be able to give an immediate response. Where there is a much more urgent and high level concern then please phone or call at Reception and we will arrange for one of the senior leaders to talk with you as soon as possible.
