Starting the new year in the top 5 schools!
News from 10/01/2020
I do hope that 2020 has started well for you. As usual, we have been busy here at St Peter’s and, with all the Christmas celebrations behind us, it has been good to settle down to a really focused term of learning.
You may have seen that in the recent ‘Real Schools’ Guide’ we were named as one of the top five performing schools in North Somerset. It was good to be able to celebrate this with a feature in the North Somerset Times. I am pleased to say that we are full in almost all year groups across the school, and regularly receive enquiries for places at St Peter’s.
We are also particularly proud of some of our year 4 and 5 children who took part in a maths competition for state and private schools across Bristol. I am very pleased to report that they all represented St Peter’s mathematicians brilliantly and the year 4 boys took 2nd place.
It is great to be able to celebrate such success and particularly when we know that, per pupil, we are one of the most poorly funded schools in the area. One way that you can help with this situation is to support our Parent School Association. We held our PSA AGM on Thursday 30th January and it was good to be able to thank Sam Hook and the team for all that they have done this year to support us. As always we need more people who will help and I am sure that we will be writing to you again about this in the coming months.
