Bristol Maths Challenge Success!
Eight KS2 children represented St Peter's brilliantly in two recent maths challenges held at Bristol Grammar School and Redmaids' Junior School. Meili, Ava, James and Will represented Year 5 whilst Max, Zhuoli, Amelia and Katerina represented Year 4. The children competed in pairs against children from 23 other schools from Bristol, Somerset and beyond. The challenges included tangrams, code-breaking and logic puzzles as well some really taxing rapid-fire calculations. In Year 5, Meili and Ava came 16th and James and Will came 21st. Will said, "The most fun parts were the cards with the riddles on and also the broken calculator." In Year 4, Zhuoli and Max came second overall and Amelia and Katerina were 25th (both out of 50 teams). We are incredibly proud of the focus and perseverance that they all showed. Max said, "I was nervous at the start but then I got more confident and really enjoyed it in the end." Congratulations to all of our amazing mathematicians and thank you to Mrs Clegg for taking both teams as well.
