Harmony Choir Sing Their Hearts Out!

Harmony Choir Sing Their Hearts Out!

On the 10th May, our Harmony Choir took part in their first competitive event at the Weston Singing Festival. Their performance of the two songs ‘Somewhere Out There’ and ‘A Choral Flourish’ impressed the audience and the judges. They really did raise the roof and we were all stunned by their professionalism and the way in which they tackled such technically challenging pieces. The adjudicator wrote, ‘A lovely warm sound, clear diction and some excellent harmonies. I loved the build in the key change. Well done for shaping the song so musically.’ He also commented on their excellent handling of the complex part work and their expertise in their control of dynamics, saying that the loud moments were full but not forced and the quiet moments were still full of energy and well projected. The choir achieved 90 marks out of 100 and were awarded ‘Honours’ for an exceptional performance both technically and artistically. Well done to all the singers, and to Katherine & Beth for their hard work in preparing the children. We look forward to many more singing successes in the future!
