Welcome From Our Executive Head Teacher
On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I am delighted to welcome you to St Peter's Church of England Primary School.
At St Peter's, we are a welcoming and inclusive school community where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. Rooted in our Christian vision and inspired by the life of St Peter, we seek to provide strong foundations upon which children can build happy, purposeful and successful lives.
Central to our vision are the words spoken to Peter:
"Upon this rock, I will build..." (Matthew 16:18)
These words remind us that lasting excellence is built upon strong foundations. We believe that every child has unique gifts, intrinsic worth and the potential to make a positive contribution to the world around them. Our role is to nurture those gifts and provide children with the knowledge, skills, character and confidence they need to flourish both now and in the future.
We aspire to develop a generation of St Peter's Citizens who are ready to Step out in Faith: embracing opportunities with courage, serving others with compassion and helping to build communities rooted in our shared values of Belonging, Kindness, Courage, Forgiveness, Responsibility and Hope.
Our vision is expressed through three commitments:
Excellence in Who We Are
We seek to develop children of character who are kind, respectful and compassionate, recognising both their own value and the value of others.
Excellence in All We Do
We are ambitious for every child and strive to develop enthusiastic, resilient learners who are curious, courageous and ready to embrace challenge.
Excellence in Our Service with Others
We encourage children to use their gifts in service of others, becoming responsible and hopeful citizens who make a positive difference in their communities and the wider world.
Alongside high academic aspirations, we are passionate about developing the whole child. We want every pupil to leave St Peter's not only with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their potential, but also with the character, resilience, wellbeing and sense of purpose needed to lead happy, fulfilling lives. As a proud Nurture UK accredited school, nurturing children's wellbeing, relationships and personal development lies at the heart of everything we do.
As a Church of England school, our Christian vision shapes and inspires our community, whilst our doors, hearts and aspirations are open to all. We warmly welcome families of all faiths and none, recognising that we are strengthened by the richness and diversity of the community we serve.
We are immensely proud of our school, our dedicated staff and, most of all, our wonderful children. St Peter's is a special place where strong relationships, high expectations and a genuine sense of belonging enable every member of our community to flourish.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family to our St Peter's community.
